RCB vs DC
Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore faced off in an intense encounter in IPL 2025 match 46 on Monday night, each team striving for the top spot on the points table and hoping that victory could cement their chances of becoming champions of IPL 2025.
DC won their previous meeting 17 days ago at their home ground against RCB but will be determined to take this matchback to recover form and defeat them decisively this time around.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, DC made an aggressive start led by Abishek Porel’s powerful strokes.
Unfortunately, wickets fell at regular intervals restricting DC’s total to 162/8 due to pressure from RCB’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood who kept pressure on.
RCB managed to rally from their initial setback and post a remarkable total at the end. Faf du Plessis and Devdutt Padikkal provided solid foundational innings while youngster Jacob Bethell provided some thrilling shots. Furthermore, Yash Dayal delivered such precision bowling that it almost felt like his aimbot mode had been activated!
KL Rahul then provided his team with much-needed impetus with an outstanding innings at Chinnaswamy Stadium, mesmerising fans while taking many risks on an unpredictable pitch.
Although unfazed by difficult conditions, he took many chances and uncharacteristically took risks early in his innings that could have altered the entire course of play if his catch early on had not been dropped.
With their win, RCB have moved up to the top of the points table with 14 from 10 games and are the only team so far to have won six away matches during IPL history.
Their impressive combination of experience and youth should allow RCB to make a markful statement this season!
Match Prediction
This match-up promises to be an intense contest between Delhi and RCB as whoever prevails will move one step closer to sealing one of the top two spots on the IPL points table. Delhi are currently second after six wins out of eight matches while RCB are currently third after an unbeaten six-match run.
It will take place at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi at 7:30 PM IST with live coverage provided by Star Sports Network as well as streaming availability via JioHotstar.
This match could prove an exciting one as the pitch is expected to be slow and assist batsmen. Additionally, Delhi have been playing an appealing brand of cricket that appeals to spectators, with strong middle and lower orders who complement fast bowlers well enough that they may prove dominant at home.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru have also enjoyed a strong run, winning three out of their last four matches and looking forward to finishing strong this season. Their away record has also been commendable and they have established themselves outside of Bengaluru region.
As both teams take to their home ground to play against one another, it will be fascinating to watch. DC have long dominated at Kotla and this could be their chance to avenge themselves against rivals RCB.
Their form is strong and should help them face whatever challenges are in store at Chinnaswamy Stadium. Royal Challengers Bengaluru squad: Phil Salt, Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar (c), Jitesh Sharma (wk), Tim David Romario Shepherd Krunal Pandya Bhuvneshwar Kumar Josh Hazlewood Yash Dayal Suyash Sharma
