Cricket U19 World Cup Semi Final

The 2026 Cricket U19 World Cup is down to its final four teams, setting the stage for the Cricket U19 World Cup Semi Final. Australia, who won the last edition, look set to make a repeat performance.

However, Afghanistan are a team with plenty of talent. They were the biggest surprise of the qualifiers, beating teams like Namibia and Kenya – who have played senior World Cups – to qualify for their first ever tournament.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi provided India with an aggressive start, showing confidence at the crease and finding the boundary regularly.

He struck five fours and a six during his short but impactful innings to quickly move the score to 30. However, his attacking approach came to an end when he was caught by Hamza Zahoor off the bowling of Mohammad Sayyam. Sayyam generated good pace and movement, making it difficult for the Indian batsmen to settle and score freely.

After Sooryavanshi’s dismissal, Ayush Mhatre and Akhilesh Chouhan continued to put pressure on the opposition by contributing important wickets and keeping the Pakistan batting lineup under control.

The Indian bowlers maintained a disciplined approach and restricted Pakistan from building a strong partnership. For Pakistan, Abdul Subhan stood out with the ball and was their most successful bowler.

He claimed 3 wickets for 33 runs in 9.5 overs, using his variations and consistent line and length to create problems for the Indian batsmen. His spell provided Pakistan with crucial breakthroughs and kept them competitive during the Cricket U19 World Cup Semi Final, as his disciplined bowling helped his team maintain pressure during an important stage of the tournament.
