As we enter Week 9 of Indian Premier League 2024, Shubman Gill’s Gujarat Titans remain hopeful of making it to the last four. They need to win their remaining two matches and hope other results go their way in order to do so.

Gujarat Titans had been hoping to qualify for the Playoffs, but have now had their hopes dashed by this result. On the other hand, KKR have managed to secure their place in Qualifier 1.
At both teams scored massive totals. And in chase mode, it was an exciting and thrilling contest as Kolkata struggled until just 29 runs were short of victory in 16th over. Rashid Khan performed brilliantly by bowling Andre Russell and Sunil Narine out, giving KKR the lead; then Rinku Singh came through and hit five sixes off five balls off last over to give Kolkata victory! One of the best games this season! After thanking their crowd and the players taking laps around ground. Gujarat Titans players must feel crushed after such a loss; yet this is how cricket works – no one will hold them back.

Heavy rain has subsided to a drizzle at Narendra Modi Stadium but no sign yet of play commencing. Umpires and curators/groundmen are in animated dialogue while preparation of the ground will take approximately 50 minutes to finish.
Venkatesh Iyer and Nitish Rana did an outstanding job anchoring Kolkata’s run chase, but Rinku Singh made the difference by hitting five sixes in one over to take them past their target and become man-of-the-match.
Gujarat Titans will suffer an enormous setback as they end the season on 11 points and look unlikely to improve upon their current standing in Qualifier 1. Meanwhile, KKR have guaranteed themselves a top two finish and secured their position within Qualifier 1. Additionally, this win marks their inaugural victory ever in Gujarat!

Rinku Singh came in and produced one of the biggest comebacks ever witnessed in Indian T20 League history, smashing five sixes to bring Kolkata back from behind and seal their win in this exciting contest. He made this game memorable and ensured they would not lose their streak of three victories against Bengal Tigers this season.
Narendra Modi Stadium is currently experiencing heavy rainstorms, leaving big puddles across its covers and leading to potential cancellation of game. This would be devastating news for Gujarat Titans’ hopes of making it to Playoffs.

As rain has lashed the field, play has been abandoned with no ball having been bowled – this comes as a huge setback for Gujarat who were hoping to secure their place in the Playoffs by winning this match – however this fateful act just proved that something bigger is at play here.
Thank you to the fans who remained patiently waiting in hope of seeing a game, but it wasn’t meant to be. Unfortunately, two-time finalists Pune are officially out of the Playoff race now despite giving it their best shot. KKR won comfortably thanks to Rinku Singh hitting five sixes in the final over and will move directly onto Qualifier 1 thanks to this victory – taking one final lap around the stadium as they thank their supporters.

Match has been abandoned without being played out and fireworks are going off at the stadium as players of Gujarat Titans take a lap around to thank fans who braved the rain and stuck around for so long. Unfortunately, it has been an unsuccessful season for the Titans who did not qualify for Playoffs and were eliminated during week five of league stage competition.
KKR have also secured their place in Qualifier 1 and are assured of at least a top two finish with 19 points from 13 games, earning at least 19 from 13 matches played so far. Two-time Champions may have wanted more cricket, but rain ended that dream abruptly – leaving Kolkata’s final over up to Rinku Singh who hit five sixes to see them home with victory! It was truly astounding performance.

Rinku Singh stole the show with five sixes in the final over to take Kolkata over against Gujarat and create history for their club! Venkatesh Iyer and Nitish Rana also impressed immensely for Kolkata in this remarkable game.
Players from Gujarat are taking one last lap around the ground to express their thanks to fans despite the rain for all their support during their home leg of play-off contention, with their play-off hopes currently futile.

A super sopper is still working to prepare it for play; cut-off time for five-over games is 10:56 PM IST; it is currently raining lightly with light showers as well as strong winds blowing.
