Sai Sudharsan
Yash Thakur has played a remarkable spell of fast bowling in this match for Lucknow Super Giants and has taken an outstanding five-wicket haul for Lucknow Super Giants, his first of the season and one that put LSG firmly in control of this encounter. His effort was well supported by their experienced spinners as they limited Gujarat to just over 150 runs.
Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan set off strong for the Titans but once both were dismissed in the powerplay, things quickly unraveled for them. LSG quickly made up ground as Thakur struck with an aggressive full ball off the final delivery of the powerplay to open up their innings – with no lookback from there on in.
Krunal Pandya and Mayank Yadav both contributed with wickets as the Titans slumped to 80/5 by the end of an over. Yash Thakur took two more wickets – Vijay Shankar being caught by Ravi Bishnoi for a stunning return catch; before taking three-fer himself. As such, Super Giants never looked back after they took control.
Marcus Stoinis had made an excellent start to his first fifty of the season but was unlucky not to score six off his last delivery, top-edging a hoick straight up at long-on. That marked an early exit for Gujarat as Lucknow secured victory comfortably.
LSG made history against Gujarat by winning their inaugural game and going three wins in a row! Their home side put on an amazing performance to move to third in the table; now looking ahead, they will look to capitalize on this victory against Chennai next game!
Shubman Gill
Shubman Gill scored an outstanding 63 off 37 balls to pull Gujarat back from defeat against Mumbai Indians. His innings was key in changing their fortunes after an off-colour showing from other batsmen and put them back on course, along with Sai Sudharsan who contributed with 54 runs off 32 deliveries – though most other members of their batting line-up struggled to adapt to Ekana Stadium pitch conditions.
Out! Yash Thakur tosses the ball high, full, and around leg; Stoinis attempts to sweep but gets an upper edge on it; Wriddhiman Saha then grabs it!

Hardik Pandya was thrilled that the Rajasthan Super Giants won their third consecutive match against Gujarat Super Giants at home, with Hardik being particularly delighted with how his bowlers stuck to their plans and did not give Gujarat any chances. Pandya stated that no one expected his side to qualify from group stage and believes their performance has been consistently impressive so far this season despite dealing with pressure effectively; their next target should be continuing this momentum in playoffs where Hardik believes his side can excel further. Lastly, Pandya offered his players best wishes of luck for future matches ahead.
Krunal Pandya
The Gujarat Titans are one of the most complete teams in the tournament. Led by Shubman Gill – who has been in great form recently – their top order features Shubman Gill as the primary batsman, while Rashid Khan and Lockie Ferguson provide plenty of variety in their bowling attack. While their batting consists of David Miller and Hardik Pandya who can produce big scores at any time.
Gill and Sudharsan provided Gujarat with a great start, scoring 54 without losing in the powerplay without facing a loss – thanks to an exceptional start from both players – before Yash Thakur was on hand with an off-spinner which skidded on and had Gill stumped, prompting a collapse as they went from 72-0 to 88-6 within five overs.
LSG have an outstanding record against the Titans when it comes to defending targets of 160 or higher and they demonstrated this here by swiftly dispatching of their lower order batsmen.
Krunal Pandya was born in Surat, India on 24 March 1991 to Himanshu and Malini Pandya who struggled to raise their two children with limited resources. Hardik Pandya
Gujarat Titans Score 144/4 In 20 Overs
KL Rahul once again failed to capitalize on his early good start against Gujarat’s disciplined bowling, as the rest of LSG batsmen struggled against Gujarat’s bowling attack. After Shubman Gill was bowled for a duck, Hardik Pandya came through with an outstanding innings in the middle – scoring 66 off 55 balls containing two fours and three maximums – supported well by Wriddhiman Saha’s 47 off 37 balls.
Noor Ahmad was the first to break Krunal’s stand as his sharply moving delivery struck Krunal squarely on the backfoot and sent him flying out of the stands. Noor continued his spin assault with Saha falling victim next. Noor’s leg-spinner bowled a short delivery that turned just enough to catch off guard the batsman off-guard.
Kyle Mayers fell victim to Rashid Khan’s leg-spin in the next over, as Rashid sent him crashing against the fence for six. Mohit Sharma took over and allowed just six singles during his over, leaving the score at 119/3 after 18 overs.
Deepak Hooda was run out by Mohit Sharma after mistiming a sweep shot against fuller deliveries from him, sending it towards deep square leg where the fielder easily caught it for another impressive performance by Mohit. LSG were on track for a comeback; Mohit finished this over with one wicket for one impressive show by himself!
