Rajasthan Royals
The Rajasthan Royals are one of the most iconic franchises in Indian Premier League history, as their miraculous win at the inaugural tournament back in 2008 will remain unforgettable. Many had written them off, yet they came storming back from behind and defeated MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings in a thrilling final match-up. Additionally, this franchise is widely known for uncovering young talents before helping promote them to higher leagues.
Royals Cricket Team have experienced their share of controversy during their IPL journey. From court battles over ownership to being implicated in spot-fixing scandals that saw three of their players arrested.
Yet despite all that has transpired they remain one of India’s most beloved teams and have won four championships altogether.
Rajasthan Royals had a successful IPL 2022 season, winning five of nine matches to finish fourth in their table and qualify for playoffs.
Jos Buttler led their run scoring with 624 runs and was honored with the Purple Cap award for his efforts. To further strengthen their bowling department, Rajasthan Royals acquired Sri Lankan pacer Prasidh Krishna and New Zealand all-rounder Trent Boult as new signings.
Royals cricket team is well known for its intense brand of play that emphasizes both heart and guts of cricket. This philosophy extends even into digital arena where they were the first team to broadcast dedicated YouTube channel as well as launch an electronic tablet in 2013.

Delhi Capitals have finished seventh in both IPL editions so far and received considerable criticism from fans. Delhi Capitals made some notable purchases at the IPL auction, including South African all-rounder Chris Morris and English wicketkeeper Sam Billings at high prices. Furthermore, uncapped players such as Harshal Patel and Sherfane Rutherford were also added.
However, despite these large signings, the team struggled throughout the tournament. They failed to qualify for the playoffs and finished ninth place with five wins and nine losses; as well as facing injury problems including Rishabh Pant and Prithvi Shaw struggling to return to form.

Only winning one out of their first three matches, they then recorded one victory against Rajasthan Royals before losing against Chennai Super Kings and falling out of playoff contention after seven years despite this poor record; eventually defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad but coming up short by just two wickets in their final match-up.

Both teams have met each other 31 times in IPL history and each team has won 15 matches; Rajasthan Royals being victorious 15 times and Delhi Capitals winning 16 times respectively.

Mitchell Starc delivered two spectacular blockhole bowling spells that helped Delhi Capitals come back into an intense IPL match where they had lost two early wickets, giving them hope to come back into contention and ultimately winning this pulsating contest in their inaugural Super Over.
It was DC’s debut Super Over of the season and they did not disappoint by producing an outstanding performance which secured victory and put an exclamation mark on an exciting contest.
High scoring was expected, yet Rajasthan Royals’ lack of discipline and ability to shed their batsmen at key moments proved costly. Ajinkya Rahane’s unbeaten 63 helped them reach 222/2 from 20 overs, but this still fell far short of their true potential.
Batsmen were hindered by poor fielding. Maheesh Theekshana dropped an easy catch off the penultimate ball to deliver an enormous blow for RR. Additionally, their failure to restrict Sandeep Sharma to below one run-a-ball cost them 73 runs off 11 balls.
Riyan Parag and Jaiswal made strong starts for Rajasthan Royals as they made good starts, before bad luck struck – Samson missed a cut, felt something in his ribs, had to leave the field due to feeling something and Jaiswal was run out off the next delivery; Starc then delivered an excellent inswinging yorker that set up another Super Over.
Even after their collapse, RR did not succumb to defeat and nearly came close to winning in the final over. Dhruv Jurel was out attempting to hit a boundary off the last ball; therefore a Super Over was called and Starc kept his nerve while under intense pressure to deliver five perfect yorkers for RR to bring down to 12/0.
